Art is a Universal Language

The thrill of painting is to express myself through the language of Art. Dancing with my brushes and watching my colors start to flow and then letting the image pull me in so I begin to feel the rhythm between the painting and myself. My most successful paintings are when that rhythm unfolds into images that define the colors, shapes and forms which bring the clarity , simplicity and harmony I want to achieve.

I reside on two islands throughout the year - Orcas Island, Washington and Useppa Island, Florida. Islands are an important part of who I am as an artist. Things are simple and smaller. I feel peaceful . I find I can create more out of a clear quiet place. The colors are magical on each island and the water and incredible beauty of nature help create the rhythm I seek.

I display my impressionist, abstract and figurative paintings and prints in my gallery overlooking a charming courtyard of shops & gardens on Orcas Island, Washington.
